The bolt is a projectile fired by the crossbow. It is made from a bolt core and fletching.

To make a bolt core, place an arrow shaft of any type into a casting table, and pour any type of molten metal over it. The poured metal will form the tip of the bolt core. Then, after making a fletching in a part builder, use the tool forge to assemble the finished bolt.

(For FTB Direwolf20 1.10 modpack, place an arrow shaft of any type)

All modifiers can only be applied to Crossbow. [Note: this may vary form mod pack and version.]

Part Traits

The bolts consists of two different parts, and they all affect the bolt differently. Please note that certain modpacks have implemented their own material re-balances, so the best materials for each part may vary from modpack to modpack. The material here only reflect the base statistics for Tinkers' Construct. (I will not be adding bolt cores, but if you would like to, please go a head and do so!) ~Please feel free to edit anything if it changes~

(See Fletching)

Depending on what type of fletching you chose, it will change the durability, breaking chance, and accuracy of the bolts.

Material Durability Breaking Chance Accuracy Modifier
Slime x 0.8 0.5% 96% (?)
Leaf x 2.5 0% 71% Stone Bound
Feather x 1 5% 91% (?)
Slime Leaf x 1.4 2% 94% Jagged

  • A stone bolt is one of the cheapest types to make an is useful for a beginner
  • Unlike tools, tipped bolts do not require a mold to make, simply put the untipped rod on the output table of a smeltery and pour on the metal. I used limonite.
